I do like the way Peach holds Mario's arm. Lord knows when or where Bowser might kidnap her again...
I've only played one Zelda game (Twilight Princess), and it isn't seem like Link "gets the girl" in that one in my opinion. Assuming Zelda functions more independently, the way that she and Peach use their hands show a great deal of their character.
